Serum expressions of carbohydrate antigen 125 and angiopoietin-2 in patients with uterine fibroids and their relationship with postoperative outcomes
Objective To explore the serum expressions of carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125)and angiopoietin-2(Ang-2)in patients with uterinefibroids and their relationship with postoperative outcomes,in order to provide reference for evaluating tumor activity and predicting postoperative recurrence risk. Methods A total of 60 patients who underwent uterine fibroid removal surgery admitted to the Second People's Hospital of Panzhihua from January 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the study subjects, and set as the observation group.Another 60 healthy individuals underwent physical examination with normal uterus during the same period were selected as the control group. The serum levels of CA125 and Ang-2 in the control group and observation group before and 7 days after surgery were detected, and the observation group were followed up for 1 year.Logistic regression analysis were used to analyze risk factors influencing postoperative recurrence. The predictive value of serum CA125,Ang-2 levels and postoperative uterine fibroid recurrence was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves. Results The preoperative serum levels of CA125 and Ang-2 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),while the serum levels of CA125 and Ang-2 in the observation group were lower than those in the observation group 7 days after surgery(P<0.05).The observation group was followed up for 1 year after surgery, with 15 cases experiencing recurrence and 45 cases not experiencing recurrence, with a recurrence rate of 25.0%.The serum CA125 and Ang-2 levels in the recurrent group were higher than those in the non-recurrent group 7 days after surgery(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that serum CA125 and Ang-2 levels at 7 days after surgery were independent risk factors for postoperative recurrence(OR=1.032,1.046;P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that serum CA125 and Ang-2 levels at 7 days after surgery had a high predictive value for postoperative fibroids recurrence, with areas under curves of 0.823 and 0.841,respectively.Conclusions The high levels of serum CA125 and Ang-2 in patients with uterine fibroids are related to the growth and recurrence of uterine tumors, and can be used as indicators to evaluate uterine fibroid activity and predict postoperative outcomes. They are independent risk factors affecting postoperative recurrence and have high predictive value.
