Literature quality evaluation of randomized controlled trial reports of acupuncture in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia
Objective To evaluate the literature quality of randomized controlled trial reports on acupuncture for benign prostatic hyperplasia based on international standards,in order to provide evidence-based evidence for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods The clinical research literatures on acupuncture for benign prostatic hyperplasia published from database establishment to March 2022 were retrieved by computer from CNKI,VIP,Wanfang,PubMed and other databases.The quality of the literature reports were evaluated by based on internationally recognized consolidated standards of reporting trials and the standards for reporting interventions in clinical trials of acupuncture(STRICTA).Methodological quality of the literature was evaluated according to the Cochrane Handbook 5.2.0.Results A total of 42 literatures were included.Methodological quality evaluation:20 literatures listed the random method,21 literatures mentioned case shedding,5 literatures mentioned the allocation concealment and 4 literatures mentioned the blind method.The report quality of 39 literatures related to acupuncture was evaluated:7 literatures mentioned different acupuncture types,2 literatures mentioned treatment changes condition,30 literatures mentioned acupuncture depths,32 literatures mentioned acupuncture responses,12 literatures mentioned the qualifications of acupuncture therapists.Conclusions Although the clinical randomized controlled researches on acupuncture therapy for benign prostatic hyperplasia are growing rapidly,the literature level and research quality still need to be improved.
