Conceptualization of the sexual morality structure of gay men in early adulthood and analysis of influencing factors
As a sexual minority,gay men may have their own unique characteristics in their sexual moral development and structure in the process of their physical and mental development.This study,in-depth interviews were conducted on 30 gay men in early adulthood aged 18-30 years old,and the text analysis of the interview data shows that the stage of moral development of gay men in early adulthood can be divided into four stages:the stage of single heterosexual moral norms,the stage of pluralistic moral norms,the stage of integrating opposing information,and the stage of preliminary stability sexual morality.The structure of sexual morality can be divided into three main parts:sexual moral cognition,sexual moral behavior development,and sexual moral emotional development.The main problem includes:influenced by homosexual peers,early sex education and the development of the Internet,gay men transfer heterosexual moral norms to gay sexual life,and because of the lack of correct guidance,the acceptance of immoral sexual behavior is higher under the scale of rejection and acceptance,which also indirectly leads to the gay male community becoming a high incidence of acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS).
