Research progress of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound in the treatment of erectile dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction(ED)is a common and frequently-occuring male disease caused by many factors. With the in-depth study of the pathophysiological mechanism of ED,breakthrough progress has been made in its treatment.Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound(LiPUS)is an important form of micro-energy medicine in translational medicine field. After long-term basic research and clinical research, its mechanism, effectiveness and safety have been preliminarily confirmed. It can not only improve the pathological injury of the penile cavernous body in ED patients, but also expand a new idea for physical therapy of organic ED.In this paper, the representative and pioneering research results in the basic research and clinical experimental research of LiPUS in the treatment of ED,especially the research progress in the field of mechanical biomechanics, are reviewed.
