Effect of hardness of penile head and hardness of penile root on sexual intercourse success rate in patients with mild erectile dysfunction
Objective To explore the effect of the hardness of penile head and root on sexual intercourse success rate in patients with erectile dysfunction(ED).Methods A total of 200 mild ED patients treated at Chongqing Dongnan Hospital and the Third Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 2022 to March 2023 were selected as the research subjects.According to the international erectile function index-5(IIEF-5)and erectile hardness scale(EHS),they were divided into complete sexual activity group(group A)and incomplete sexual activity group(group B),with 100 cases in each group.RigiScan was used to detect the hardness and duration of penile roots and heads in two groups,and analyze the effect of penile head and root hardness on the success rate of sexual intercourse.Results There were no significant differences in number of erection and total erection duration between the two groups(P＞0.05).In group A,the hardness of penis head ≥60％,the hardness of penis root ≥60％and the increased circumference of penis head and root increased more than those in group B,and the hardness of penis head and root in group A were higher than those in group B(P＜0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that increased head circumference(OR=0.800),increased root circumference(OR=0.828),high head hardness(OR=0.653)and high root hardness(OR=0.725)were all protective factors for successful sexual intercourse(P＜0.05).The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of increased head circumference,increased root circumference,head hardness and root hardness are 0.610,0.612,0.676 and 0.608,respectively.Delong analysis shows that AUC of head hardness was significantly higher than the root hardness,head circumference and root circumference(P＜0.05).Conclusions The circumference of penis head,the circumference of penis root,the hardness of penis head and the hardness of penis root are all influencing factors for the success of sexual intercourse,and the hardness of penis head has the greatest influence on the success rate of sexual intercourse.
