Clinical characteristics and prognostic analysis of endometrial cancer patients with metabolic syndrome
Objective To observe the occurrence of metabolic syndrome in patients with endometrial cancer(EC),and to analyze its clinical characteristics and prognosis condition. Methods Retrospective analysis was used to collect the clinical data of 297 EC patients who underwent surgical treatment in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Affliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Shanghai Children's Medicine Center,Hainan Branch from January 2016 to November 2017.According to the occurrence of metabolic syndrome,84 patients with metabolic syndrome were divided into experimental group and 213 patients without metabolic syndrome were divided into control group. All patients completed a 5-year follow-up,patients'progression free survival rate and overall survival rate were recorded, and the clinical characteristics and prognosis condition of EC patients with metabolic syndrome were analyzed. Results The experimental group had a higher proportion of patients aged≥55 years, menopause, clinical stage Ⅱ-Ⅳ,with hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and lymph node metastasis compared to the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of Logistic regression analysis showed that age ≥55 years, menopause, clinical stage Ⅱ-Ⅳ,hyperglycemia,hyperlipidemia,hypertension,and lymph node metastasis were risk factors for metabolic syndrome in EC patients(OR>1,P<0.05);the progression free survival rate and overall survival rate of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions Compared to EC patients without metabolic syndrome,EC patients with metabolic syndrome have a poorer prognosis, lower progression free survival rates and overall survival rates.
