Impact of ergometrine combined with carboprost suppositories on postpartum hemorrhage in pregnant women undergoing vaginal birth after cesarean
Objective To investigate the impact of ergometrine combined with carboprost suppositories on postpartum hemorrhage in pregnant women undergoing vaginal birth after cesarean(VBAC).Methods A total of 100 women who underwent VBAC in Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital,Capital Medical University from March 2019 to February 2021 were retrospectively selected as study objects and grouped into an observation group(n=50)and a control group(n=50)according to the differences in the drug regimens for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage after delivery. The control group was treated with oxytocin combined with carboprost suppositories, and the observation group was treated with ergometrine on the basis of the control group. The hemorrhage and hemostasis status, laboratory examination results, clinical manifestations, and safety of postpartum women in the two groups were compared. Results The hemorrhage volume at 2 h and 24 h postpartum in the control group was greater than that in the observation group, and the hemostasis time in the control group was significantly longer than that in the observation group(P<0.05).After treatment, the activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),thrombin coagulation time(TT),hemoglobin(Hb)and fibrinogen(FIB)of parturients in the two groups were all decreased, and the APTT,TT and FIB of parturients in the control group were all higher than those in the observation group, while the Hb was lower than that in the observation group(P<0.05).The duration of uterine contractions in the observation group was longer than that in the control group, while the duration of lochia and hospital stay were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group and the control group was 14.00%and 18.00%,respectively,and there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions The combination of ergometrine and carboprost suppository can effectively improve the postpartum hemorrhage of VBAC pregnant women.
