Comparative study on application of COOK balloon combined with oxytocin and artificial rupture of membrane in induced labor of full-term pregnant women with immature cervical conditions
Objective To compare and analyze the application value of COOK balloon combined with oxytocin and artificial rupture of membrane in induced labor of full-term pregnant women with immature cervix conditions. Methods A total of 85 full-term pregnant women with immature cervical conditions who were waiting for delivery in Longquan People's Hospital from March 2019 to March 2022 were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into balloon group(n=42)and artificial rupture of membrane group(n=43)according to the number table method.COOK balloon combined with oxytocin for induced labor was used in balloon group while artificial rupture of membrane was applied in artificial rupture of membrane group. The cervical maturation promotion effect, maternal stress level, stages of labor and labor outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results The Bishop score in balloon group was higher than that in artificial rupture of membrane group at 24 hours after labor induction(P<0.05),and the total effective rate of cervical maturation promotion was higher than that in artificial rupture of membrane group(P<0.05).The levels of serum catecholamine(CA)and cortisol(Cor)in balloon group were lower than those in artificial rupture of membrane group(P<0.05).The duration of first stage of labor and duration of second stage of labor were shorter in balloon group compared with those in artificial rupture of membrane group(P<0.05).The rate of conversion to cesarean section and incidence rates of adverse outcomes were lower in balloon group than those in artificial rupture of membrane group(P<0.05).Conclusions Compared with artificial rupture of membrane,COOK balloon combined with oxytocin has a better cervical maturation promotion effect, and can better relieve the maternal stress response, shorten the stages of labor, and reduce the cesarean section rate and incidence rates of adverse outcomes.
