Prevalence of erectile dysfunction among Chinese men:a Meta-analysis
Objective To systematically evaluate the prevalence of erectile dysfunction(ED)among Chinese men.Methods PubMed,EMbase,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,CNKI,Wanfang,VIP and CBM were searched to collect cross-sectional studies on the prevalence of ED among Chinese men from database establishment to December 31th,2022.Meta-analysis was performed by using Stata 15.1 software.Results A total of 28 cross-sectional studies were included,including 77,810 survey objects.The results of Meta-analysis showed that the overall prevalence of ED among Chinese men was 43.4%(95%CI:0.374-0.494).The prevalence of ED of those aged<40,40-59 and ≥60 years were 22.6%,40.6%and 77.7%,respectively.The prevalence of ED assessed by the international index of erectile function(IIEF-5),Chinese index of erectile function(CIEF),and self-report were 44.5%,38.1%and 42.8%,respectively.Conclusions The prevalence of ED among Chinese men is relatively high,and there are certain differences in the prevalence of ED using different assessment tools and different age groups.
