Application of three-step urethral catheter removal mode in patients with prostatic hyperplasia after electrotomy
Objective To investigate the effect of three-step urethral catheter removal mode and traditional urethral catheter removal mode on the clinical efficacy of patients with prostatic hyperplasia after electrotomy. Methods A total of 200 patients with prostatic hyperplasia admitted to the Department of Urology of Affiliated Hospital of Youjiang Medical College for Nationalities from May 2020 to May 2022 were selected for prospective study and divided into two groups according to the random number table method, defined as the control group(n=100)and the observation group(n=100),both groups were treated with electrotomy, and postoperative triple-lumen urinary catheters(15 mL sterile saline was injected into the balloon)were left in place. The control group was treated with traditional urethral catheter removal mode and the observation group was treated with three-step urethral catheter removal mode. The patients in both groups were observed and compared for bleeding, pain, infection, incomplete urination or urinary retention conditions after urinary catheter removal. Results The hospital stay of observation group was significantly shorter than that of control group(P<0.05).The maximum flow rate(Qmax)and maximal detrusor pressure(Pdet-Qmax)were significantly higher in the observation group and bladder compliance(BC)and post-void residual urine volume(PVR)were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).The observation group had significantly better urinary comfort grading than the control group(P<0.05).The improvement of total bladder properties was significantly better in the observation group than in the control group at 3 and 6 months after surgery(P<0.05).The incidence of complications was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions Compared with the traditional urethral catheter removal mode, the clinical efficacy of the three-step urethral catheter removal mode intervention in patients with prostatic hyperplasia after electrotomy is better, and it is more beneficial to reduce patients'pain and the incidence of complications.
