Study on the correlation between serum and seminal plasma interleukin-38,angiotensin-1 levels and semen quality in male infertility patients
Objective To explore the expression levels of interleukin-38(IL-38)and angiotensin-1(Ang-1)in the serum and seminal plasma of male infertility patients and analyze their corr-elation with semen quality. Methods A total of 108 male infertility patients admitted to Wenzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from April 2021 to April 2023 were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into the oligoasthenozoospermia group(n=61)and the normal sperm group(n=47)based on the quality of semen.Pearson's method was used to analyze the correlation between serum and seminal plasma IL-38 and Ang-1 levels and semen quality of the patients. Results The semen quality and the expression levels of seminal plasma fructose and semen plasma neutral α-glucosidase(NAG)in oligoasthenozoospermia group were lower than those in normal sperm group, and the expression levels of IL-38 and Ang-1 in semen of oligoasthenozoospermia group were higher than those in normal sperm group(P<0.05).Expression levels of IL-38 and Ang-1 in serum and seminal plasma of male infertility patients were negatively correlated with semen quality, seminal plasma fructose and seminal plasma NAG.Conclusions Serum and seminal plasma IL-38 and Ang-1 levels were higher in male infertility patients with oligoasthenozoospermia than in patients with normal spermatozoa, and IL-38 and Ang-1 levels correlated with semen quality.
