Correlation analysis of lipid metabolism on embryo quality in patients with unexplained infertility undergoing in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer
Objective To analyze the correlation between lipid metabolism and embryo quality in patients with unexplained infertility(UI)undergoing in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET).Methods A total of 126 UI patients admitted to Chengde Central Hospital from January 2020 to June 2023 were selected as the research objects. All patients received IVF-ET treatment.According to the embryo quality assessment criteria, the patients were divided into high-quality group(n=76)and poor-quality group(n=50).The baseline data and laboratory indexes of the two groups were compared, and the correlation between lipid metabolism indexes before IVF-ET and embryo quality of UI patients was analyzed. Results The levels of total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),testosterone,and progesterone in the poor-quality group were higher than those in the high-quality group, while the levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and estradiol were lower than those in the high-quality group(P<0.05).Through point biserial correlation,it was confirmed that the levels of TC,TG,LDL-C were positively correlated with the quality of IVF-ET embryos in UI patients(r>0,P<0.05),while the levels of HDL-C were negatively correlated with the quality of IVF-ET embryos in UI patients(r<0,P<0.05).Conclusions Lipid metabolism is related to the quality of IVF-ET embryos in UI patients, and lipid metabolism disorders may lead to poor IVF-ET embryo quality in UI patients.
