Interventional effect of ear acupoint seed implantation in the clinical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia
Objective To evaluate the intervention effect of ear point seed implantation in the clinical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods A total of 105 BPH patients admitted to Yancheng Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(Yancheng TCM Hospital)from January 2021 to October 2022 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into a treatment group(n=55)and a control group(n=50)using a random number table method. The control group was treated with sustained-release capsules of tamsulosin hydrochloride and finasteride tablets, while the treatment group was treated with a combination of Wangbuliuxing ear acupoint seed(urethra, bladder, kidney, middle border, subcortical)compression on the basis of the control group's treatment. The prostate volume(PV),postvoid residual(PVR),and maximum urine flow rate(Qmax)between two groups before and after treatment, and the international prostate symptom score(IPSS)and quality of life(QOL)score between the two groups before and after treatment were compared. Results After treatment, the IPSS,QOL score and Qmax of both groups were better than before treatment, and the treatment group was better than the control group, with statistical significant differences(P<0.05);after treatment, the PVR of the treatment group was lower than before treatment(P<0.05),and also lower than the control group, but with no statistical significant differences(P>0.05);after treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in PV between the two groups compared to before treatment(P>0.05).Conclusions The efficacy of ear acupoint seed implantation in treating BPH is definite, which can effectively improve urodynamic indicators, alleviate prostate symptoms, and improve quality of life.
