Relationship between dyadic coping and quality of life in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology:based on latent profile analysis
Objective To classify the dyadic coping of female patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology(ART)using latent profile analysis and to explore the relationship between these potential dyadic coping classifications and the quality of life. Methods A total of 458 patients who received ART treatment in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Tongji University from April to September 2022 were selected as study objects.General information questionnaires, dyadic coping inventory(DCI),and fertility quality of life tool were administered for investigation.Latent profile analysis was used to explore the relationship between latent classes of dyadic coping and the quality of life. Results The model with four latent profiles was identified as the optimal model. There was individual heterogeneity in the dyadic coping among female ART patients, with four distinct latent classes identified, including active coping group, supportive coping group, average coping group, and negative coping group.Female ART patients with higher educational levels, higher satisfaction with income, shorter duration of infertility, and who resides in urban areas had a greater probability of belonging to the active coping group(P<0.05).Significant differences in fertility, core, and treatment quality of life were observed between the active coping group, supportive coping group, and the average coping group or negative coping group(P<0.001).No significant difference was found between the active coping group and the supportive coping group(P>0.05),but both of them were higher than the average coping group(P<0.001),which was higher than the negative coping group(P<0.001).Conclusions There is heterogeneity in the dyadic coping of female ART patients.Educational level, income, residence, and duration of infertility are factors influencing latent profile types.Active and supportive coping by couples can improve their quality of life, suggesting that healthcare professionals should identify individuals with negative coping strategies early and implement couple-based coping interventions to enhance their quality of life.
