The relationship between the serum microRNA-15b-5p,microRNA-17-5p levels and the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of endometrial carcinoma
Objective To study the relationship between serum microRNA(miR)-15b-5p,miR-17-5p levels and clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of endometrial carcinoma(EC).Methods A total of 82 EC patients admitted to 3201 Hospital from January 2016 to June 2020 were selected as study objects and set as the EC group.Another 40 healthy women who underwent physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of serum miR-15b-5p and miR-17-5p were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction. The levels of serum miR-15b-5p and miR-17-5p in EC patients with different clinical and pathological characteristics were compared.Pearson correlation was used for correlation analysis.Kaplan-Meier survival curve was drawn, and the prognosis of patients with different serum miR-15b-5p and miR-17-5p levels was compared by Log-Rank test.Cox regression model was used to analyze the influencing prognostic factors of EC patients. Results The relative expression levels of serum miR-15b-5p,miR-17-5p,and CA125 level in the EC group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The serum levels of miR-15b-5p and miR-17-5p in EC patients were related to international federation of gynecology and obstetrics(FIGO)staging, tumor differentiation degree, invasion depth, and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).The serum miR-15b-5p and miR-17-5p levels were positively correlated with CA125 in EC patients(r=0.661,0.702,P<0.05).The overall 3-year survival rates of the miR-15b-5p high expression group and the miR-15b-5p low expression group were 47.50%(19/40)and 90.48%(38/42),respectively.The overall 3-year survival rates of the miR-17-5p high expression group and the miR-17-5p low expression group were 46.15%(18/39)and 90.70%(39/43),respectively.The cumulative survival of EC patients in the miR-15b-5p high expression group was lower than that in the miR-15b-5p low expression group(P<0.05).The cumulative survival of EC patients in the miR-17-5p high expression group was lower than that in the miR-17-5p low expression group(P<0.05).Serum miR-15b-5p,miR-17-5p,CA125,FIGO staging, and lymph node metastasis were independent risk factors for poor prognosis in EC patients(P<0.05).Conclusion The increase of serum miR-15b-5p and miR-17-5p in EC patients are related to the adverse clinicopathologic characteristics of EC patients and are serum markers for evaluating the survival prognosis of EC patients.
