Study on clinical efficacy and safety of Yikang Decoction combined with intradermal needling in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome with dampness-heat of liver channel
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Yikang Decoction combined with intradermal needling in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)with dampness-heat of liver channel.Methods A total of 70 PCOS patients with dampness-heat of liver channel admitted to Wenzhou TCM Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from February to November 2023 were selected as the study subjects.The random number table method was employed to divide them into the treatment group and the control group,with 35 cases in each group.The treatment group was administered Yikang Decoction combined with intradermal needling therapy,while the control group was given drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablet with continuous treatment for 3 months and followed up for another 3 months.The traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score,acne score,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)score,self-rating depression scale(SDS)score,sex hormone level,and safety of the two groups were compared,and the menstrual cycle conditions were followed up.Results Compared with before treatment,the levels of follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)significantly increased in both groups after treatment(P＜0.001),while the levels of TCM syndrome score,acne score,SAS score,SDS score,luteinizing hormone(LH),LH/FSH,and testosterone(T)significantly decreased(P＜0.001).There was no significant difference in the FSH level between the two groups after treatment(P＞0.05).After treatment,the levels of TCM syndrome score,acne score,SAS score,SDS score,LH,and LH/FSH in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group,the total effective rate of the menstrual cycle in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group,and the T level in the control group was lower than that in the treatment group,with statistical significances(P＜0.05).There were no obvious adverse reactions in the treatment group.Conclusions Yikang Decoction combined with intradermal needling can effectively regulate the menstrual cycle,alleviate clinical symptoms,improve endocrine levels,and modulate negative emotions in PCOS patients with dampness-heat of liver channel,with good safety.
