Relationship between seminal plasma elastase levels and in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer outcomes in male infertility patients
Objective To analyze the relationship between seminal plasma elastase(SPE)levels and in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET)outcomes in male infertility patients. Methods A total of 122 male infertility patients admitted to Dongguan People's Hospital from June 2020 to December 2022 were selected as the research objects.According to the SPE detection values of patients before IVF-ET treatment, they were divided into abnormal group(n=40)and normal group(n=82).The conventional semen parameters and assisted pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groups. The correlation between the SPE level and IVF-ET outcome was analyzed byX2test Phi coefficient. The correlation between the SPE level and the semen white blood cell concentration and sperm DNA fragmentation index was analyzed by Pearson method. Results The abnormal group had higher semen leukocyte concentration, sperm DNA fragmentation index, and SPE level than the normal group, while the high-quality embryo rate and clinical pregnancy rate were lower than those of the normal group(P<0.05).The SPE level in male infertility patients was related to the rate of high-quality embryos and clinical pregnancy rate(P<0.05).The SPE levels were positively correlated with semen leukocyte concentration and sperm DNA fragmentation index(P<0.05).Conclusions The level of SPE in male infertility patients is related to the outcomes of IVF-ET,and abnormal high expression of SPE can reduce the high-quality embryo rate and clinical pregnancy rate of patients.
