The relationship between serum interleukin-2 and pregnancy outcome of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer in patients with decreased ovarian reserve
Objective To investigate the relationship between serum interleukin-2(IL-2)and pregnancy outcomes of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET)in patients with decreased ovarian reserve(DOR).Methods A total of 305 DOR patients who received IVF-ET assisted pregnancy at Tangshan Maternal and Child Health Hospital from September 2020 to September 2022 were selected as the observation group, and 305 healthy pregnant women admitted during the same period were included as the control group. The observation group were divided into pregnant group and non-pregnant group according to the outcomes of assisted pregnancy. The serum IL-2 levels of the observation group and the control group were compared, and the pregnancy outcome of the observation group was counted.Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of pregnancy failure after IVF-ET treatment in DOR patients, and the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to analyze the predictive value of each serum index for pregnancy failure after IVF-ET treatment in DOR patients. Results The serum IL-2 levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The pregnancy success rate of 305 DOR patients was 53.11%(162/305).The serum IL-2 levels and the incidence of antral follicle count<5 before and after transplantation in the non-pregnant group were higher than those in the pregnant group, while the serum anti-Müllerian hormone(AMH)levels were lower than those in the pregnant group(P<0.05).The low number of antral follicles, low expression of serum AMH,and high expression of serum IL-2 before transplantation were the influencing factors of pregnancy failure in DOR patients after IVF-ET treatment(P<0.05).The combined predictive efficacy of serum AMH and pre-transplant serum IL-2 was higher than each predictor alone. Conclusions Serum IL-2 level is closely related to the pregnancy outcomes of IVF-ET in DOR patients, and it may become an auxiliary indicator for clinical prediction of IVF-ET pregnancy outcomes in DOR patients.
