Clinical experience of 15 cases of paratesticular tumors in adult and literature review
Objective To discuss the clinical characteristics,treatment methods,pathological types and prognosis of paratesticular tumors in adults.Methods A retrospective analysis of clinical data from 15 patients with paratesticular tumors admitted to Beijing Chaoyang Hospital,Capital Medical University,from January 2014 to June 2022 was conducted.The patients'clinical characteristics,imaging diagnosis,surgical condition,pathology,and follow-up results were recorded.Results The main clinical manifestation of these 15 patients was painless scrotum enlargement.All patients underwent surgical treatment,and postoperative pathology was diverse,mainly involving liposarcoma and solitary fibrous tumor.After an average follow-up of 37 months,1 patient experienced disease recurrence.Conclusions Paratesticular tumor of adults is a rare disease.The chief complaint is often the mass in the scrotum.The imaging findings are diverse.The main clinical treatment is surgical resection.Postoperative pathology results can vary.The prognosis of paratesticular tumor is generally good,but the clinical diagnosis and management pose challenges.
