Analysis of the risk factors of premature ejaculation combined with erectile dysfunction based on motivation theory
Objective To explore the risk factors of premature ejaculation(PE)combined with erectile dysfunction(ED)based on motivation theory. Methods A total of 175 patients with PE admitted to the Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from September to November 2022 were regarded as the study objects.Patients with simple PE were classified as the PE group(n=74),and patients combined with PE and ED were classified as the comorbidity group(n=101).Baseline data questionnaire, premature ejaculation diagnostic tool(PEDT),the international index of erectile function-5(IIEF-5),and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)were used to investigate the patients. The baseline data of the two groups were compared.Multiple Logistic regression analysis was used to explored the risk factors of ED in patients with PE.Results Between the two groups, the educational level, alcohol consumption, frequency of sexual behavior, and IIEF-5 score were statistically significant different(P<0.05).The results of multiple Logistics regression analysis showed anxiety was the risk factor for ED in PE patients, while higher frequency of sexual activity, alcohol consumption, childbearing, and middle school education or above were protective factors(P<0.05).Conclusions Comorbidity of PE and ED is a common sexual dysfunction in clinical practice.Anxiety can inhibit the incentive effect of sex.Higher sexual frequency, alcohol consumption, childbearing and middle school education or above can maintain the incentive effect of sex.
