Clinical diagnostic value of microRNA-188-3p and microRNA-4485-3p levels in seminal plasma for non-obstructive azoospermia patients
Objective To explore the clinical diagnostic value of microRNA-188-3p(miR-188-3p)and microRNA-4485-3p(miR-4485-3p)levels in seminal plasma for patients with non-obstructive azoospermia(NOA).Methods A total of 83 NOA patients admitted to the Qinhuangdao First Hospital from November 2021 to November 2023 were selected as NOA group,91 patients with asthenospermia were selected as asthenospermia group,and 87 volunteers with normal indexes in the same period were selected as normal group.The baseline data and the levels of miR-188-3p and miR-4485-3p in seminal plasma were compared among three groups,Logistic regression was applied to analyze the influencing factors of NOA occurrence,receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was applied to analyze the diagnostic value of miR-188-3p and miR-4485-3p levels in seminal plasma for NOA.Results The proportion of patients with urinary and reproductive system infections history in the NOA group was higher than that in the asthenospermia group and normal group(P<0.05);the levels of miR-188-3p and miR-4485-3p in the seminal plasma of the NOA group were lower than those of the asthenospermia group and the normal group(P<0.05);miR-188-3p and miR-4485-3p in seminal plasma were protective factors for the occurrence of NOA(P<0.05).The combined diagnostic efficacy of miR-188-3p and miR-4485-3p in seminal plasma for NOA was higher than that of each indicator alone(Zcombination-miR-188-3p=4.682,P<0.001;Zcombination-miR-4485-3p=2.743,P=0.006).Conclusions The levels of miR-188-3p and miR-4485-3p in the seminal plasma of NOA patients are significantly decreased,and the diagnostic efficacy of miR-188-3p combined with miR-4485-3p in the seminal plasma for NOA was higher than that of each indicator alone.
