Effects of empowerment education based on the action concept on the negative emotions and stress response in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia after transurethral holmium laser enucleation of prostate
Objective To explore the effects of empowerment education based on the action concept on the negative emotions and stress response in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia after transurethral holmium laser enucleation of prostate(HoLEP).Methods A total of 300 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia undergoing HoLEP in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University between July 2021 and July 2022 were selected as research objects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into observation group(n=150)and control group(ne=150).The control group was given routine health education, while the observation group was given empowerment education based on the action concept on the basis of the control group. The negative emotions, stress response and complications were compared between the two groups before and after intervention. Results After intervention, the scores of self-rating depression scale(SDS)and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)in the observation group were both lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After intervention, the levels of serum norepinephrine(NE),prostaglandin E2(PGE2)and substance P(SP)in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusions The empowerment education based on the action concept can improve the negative emotions, and relieve the stress response in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia after HoLEP,with high safety.
