Meta-analysis of the prevalence of dyslipidemia in human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome patients
Objective To systematically evaluate the prevalence of dyslipidemia in patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS)patients. Methods CNKI,China Bidogy Medicine,VIP,Wanfang,PubMed,Web of science,Embase,Cochrane Library and other datebase were searched for the enrolled literature related to the incidence of dyslipidemia in HIV/AIDS patients by computer. The search period was from the establishment of the database to September 2023.The literature screening, data extraction and quality evaluation were completed independently by two researchers.Statistical analysis was carried out by Stata 16.0 software. Results A total of 55 papers were included, including 69,968 HIV/AIDS patients. The results of Meta-analysis showed that the prevalence of dyslipidemia in HIV/AIDS patients was 57.0%,and the prevalence of hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, high low density lipoprotein cholesterolemia and low high density lipoprotein cholesterolemia were 23.7%,30.6%,21.8%,and 39.3%,respectively.The blood lipid levels were total cholesterol 176.2 mg/dL,triglycerides 116.8 mg/dL,low-density lipoprotein 106.5mg/dL,and high-density lipoprotein 45.6mg/dL.The results of sub-grouping analysis showed that the overall prevalence of dyslipidemia and the prevalence of specific types of dyslipidemia in HIV/AIDS patients in different regions, ages and treatment conditions were significantly different(P<0.05).Conclusions The prevalence of dyslipidemia in HIV/AIDS patients is high, and there are differences in the dyslipidemia among HIV/AIDS patients in different regions, ages and treatment conditions.
