Advances in the Role of MYOM2 in Clinical Medicine and Animal Production
The Myomesin gene family is distributed in the M line of skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle, and is an important connector of the M line, mainly involved in the assembly of myofibrils and mechanical force conduction, and there are three subtypes in mammals.Myomesin-2(MYOM2)is a member of the Myomesin gene family, which is closely related to the development of skeletal and cardiac muscles, plays an important role in muscle contraction and joint development, and is highly associated with the occurrence of many human diseases.MYOM2 also plays an important regulatory role in the improvement of meat quality of livestock and poultry, and can be used as a candidate gene to improve the meat tenderness of livestock and poultry. This article reviews the discovery process, genetic information and research progress of MYOM2 in clinical medicine and animal husbandry production, and provides ideas for related research work.
