Advances in Enhancers and Super Enhancers in Domestic Animals
Enhancers are an important class of cis-acting elements that play an important role in animal development by regulating the temporal and spatial expression of their target genes.Super enhancers are composed of enhanced subsets and have more important biological functions than ordinary enhancers.Studying enhancers and super enhancers helps to reveal the complex inner workings of the genome. This review focuses on the genome-wide screening, potential functions, activity analysis and variation studies of enhancers and super enhancers in domestic animals,in order to provide references for further research on animal functional genomics.
