In order to compare the growth performance, slaughter performance and meat quality of Xuefeng black bone chickens from pure line and matching line,280 one-day-old Xuefeng black bone chickens(half male and half female)were selected to compare and analyze their growth performance and calculate the cross-dominance rate.Meanwhile,a nonlinear model was used to fit the growth curve. The slaughtering performance and meat quality of 30 male and 30 female at market age were tested. The results showed as follows:(1)The optimal growth curve model of Xuefeng black bone chickens was Von Bertalanffy, the inflection point age of the commercial line was earlier than that of the pure line, the market weight was significantly(P<0.05)higher than that of the pure line, and the feed to gain ratio was slightly lower than that of the pure line;(2)The slaughtering rate, half evisceration rate, full evisceration rate and abdominal fat rate of commercial line cocks were significantly higher than those of pure line cocks(P<0.05),and the slaughtering rate, breast muscle rate, leg muscle rate and abdominal fat rate of hens were significantly higher than those of pure line hens(P<0.05);(3)The drip loss of commercial line cocks was significantly(P<0.05)less than that of pure line cocks, the shear force,b*,muscle fiber area and diameter were significantly(P<0.05)greater than that of pure line cocks, the drip loss of hens was significantly(P<0.05)less than that of pure line hens, and the pH,a*,muscle fiber area and diameter were significantly(P<0.05)greater than that of pure line hens;(4)The contents of L*,ash, fat, protein and total amino acid of commercial line were not significantly different from those of pure line(P>0.05).The results showed that the commercial lines had better growth performance and slaughter performance than pure line.In the future breeding process, improving the meat tenderness and reducing the abdominal fat percentage of commercial lines could be one of the breeding goals.
