Advances of the Toxic Effects of Mycotoxins on Oogenesis of Sows
Oogenesis is an important factor influencing the level of reproductive performance of sows and involves 3 stages:oogonial proliferation, oocyte growth and maturation.Exposure to mycotoxins such as aflatoxin, zearalenone, vomitoxin and fumonisin present in the environment can cause lesions in the ovarian and uterine tissues of sows, interfering with oogenesis and causing adverse effects on sow health. The toxic effects of oogenesis can interfere with the normal development and maturation process of the egg, resulting in malformed, abnormal or unfertilised eggs, affecting the reproductive potential and production efficiency of sows.In this paper,we reviewed the mechanism of action of four mycotoxins(aflatoxin, zearalenone, vomitoxin and fumonisin),which are more frequent and hazardous in feeds,on the toxicity of sows'oocytes, and provided important references to solve the problems of hormonal disorders, ovulatory abnormality, and embryonic development abnormality in sows'reproduction process.
