Regulation of Puerarin in Animal Intestinal Health and Its Application in Livestock and Poultry Production
Intestinal tract is not only an important site for nutrient digestion and absorption, but also the largest immune organ of the body, maintaining normal physiological function of intestinal tract is essential for animal health.Puerarin is a natural isoflavone with antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,antibacterial and lipid-lowering effects. In recent years, research has found that puerarin can maintain intestinal health by improving animal intestinal morphology, antioxidant capacity and intestinal mucosal barrier function. This review focuses on the regulation of puerarin on animal intestinal health and summarizes the research progress of its application in livestock and poultry production, aiming to provide reference for further study on the regulation mechanism of puerarin on animal intestinal health and rational utilization in production.
