Pericoronary adipose tissue(PCAT)refers to the adipose tissue surrounding coronary arteries, which can communicate with neighboring coronary arteries in a bidirectional manner and regulate local coronary artery inflammation. The predictive value of PCAT for the prognosis of coronary heart disease has been validated in several studies. Therefore, this article reviews the pathophysiologic mechanisms of PCAT interaction with coronary arteries and the research progress related to the prognosis of coronary heart disease.
