Obesity cardiomyopathy is a metabolic cardiopathy caused by obesity and is closely related to mitophagy.Mitophagy is an important mitochondrial quality control, and FUN14 domain containing 1(FUNDC1),a mitochondrial outer membrane protein, plays a significant role in this process. In this article,we review the recent advances in the role of FUNDC1-mediated mitochondrial autophagy in the pathogenesis of obesity cardiomyopathy, aiming to provide new insights for the clinical treatment of the disease.
