Objective To investigate the prevalence and trends of cardiovascular risk factors in healthy screening population in Dalian from 2012 to 2021.Methods A retrospective study was conducted.Healthy screening data of 155 654 individuals aged ≥20 years at the Health Management Center of the Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University from 2012 to 2021 were collected, and the crude prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors(hypertension, overweight, obesity, elevated blood sugar and dyslipidemia)was evaluated in total and stratified by gender.Prevalence rates were directly standardized based on the seventh national census data in 2020.The Joinpoint log-linear regression model was used to calculate the average annual percentage change(AAPC)of the standardized prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in the total population and different genders, and to further analyze the change trend and pairwise co-occurrence of five cardiovascular risk factors in the past 10 years. Results From 2012 to 2021,among the five risk factors, the crude and standardized prevalence of overweight were always the highest, the standardized prevalence was the highest in 2020(61.1%),and the lowest in 2019(36.4%).The crude and standardized prevalence of elevated blood glucose remained low, with the highest prevalence of elevated blood glucose in 2021(24.0%)and the lowest prevalence of elevated blood glucose in 2013(18.4%).From 2012 to 2021,the crude prevalence of hyperglycemia showed an increasing trend(AAPC=2.8%,95%CI:0.2%-5.5%,P=0.039),while no significant changes were observed in the other 4 risk factors. From 2012 to 2021,the crude and standardized prevalence rates of five risk factors in males were much higher than those in females. The standardized prevalence of hypertension in women increased from 18.93%in 2012 to 21.61%in 2021(AAPC=5.0%,95%CI:0.4%-9.9%,P=0.036).The crude and standardized prevalence rates of overweight and elevated blood glucose were stable between different genders.Crude prevalence of obesity was increasing in males(AAPC=1.3%,95%CI:0.1%-2.5%,P=0.036).The crude and standardized prevalence of dyslipidemia showed no significant change in males, but increased in females(AAPC=6.6%,95%CI:2.1%-11.3%,P=0.009).The prevalence of overweight in males was the highest, and the prevalence of dyslipidemia in females was the highest. From 2012 to 2021,the proportion of overweight and dyslipidemia co-existed was the highest, and the proportion of five cardiovascular risk factors co-existing in men was higher than that in women. Conclusions The prevalence of overweight was high, the prevalence of five risk factors were higher in men than in women, and the prevalence of elevated blood glucose and obesity were increased from 2012 to 2021,but there are slight differences in different genders.
