Objective To analyze the serum levels of interferon-γ(IFN-γ)and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1)in patients with acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage and their clinical significance. Methods The clinical data of 174 patients with acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage admitted from January 2022 to July 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, and the patients were divided into mild group(n=83),moderate group(n=55)and severe group(n=36)according to their severity. The serum levels of IFN-γ and sICAM-1 in patients with acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage of different severity were analyzed. The patients were divided into good prognosis group(n=149)and poor prognosis group(n=25)according to the prognosis outcomes 30 days after treatment. The difference of serum IFN-γ and sICAM-1 levels between the two groups was compared, and the predictive value of serum IFN-γ,sICAM-1 and their combination in patients with acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage was analyzed using receiver characteristic curve(ROC curve). Results The levels of IFN-γ and sICAM-1 in mild group, moderate group and severe group were increased gradually, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of IFN-γ and sICAM-1 were positively correlated with the severity of acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage(r=0.686,0.660,P<0.001).The serum levels of IFN-γ and sICAM-1 in the good prognosis group were lower than those in the poor prognosis group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).ROC curve showed that the AUC of serum IFN-γ,sICAM-1 and their combination for prognosis of acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage patients were 0.880,0.846 and 0.913,respectively(P<0.001).Conclusion Serum IFN-γ and sICAM-1 are correlated with the severity of acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and can predict the prognosis of patients.
