A Study of the Party's Theoretical Exploration and Practice in China's Industrialization Prior to the Founding of the PRC
The CPC had developed an increasingly definite goal of future industrial development and industri-alization before 1949,as it put forth the program that the means of production should be"owned by the public"on its first National Congress,maintained that"entire national independence"be the prerequisite to promoting ear-nestly industrial development,with the state ownership of important economic lifelines in the early 1930s,and held that"great efforts be made to China's industrialization"during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.At the same time,the CPC,in its early leadership of industrial production,laid much emphasis on elements such as industrial self-sufficiency,unified planning,nation-wide mobilization,and development of public industries,which later became the most distinctive features of industrialization of the newly founded People's Republic of Chi-na.The exploration and practice laid the foundation for and are also an integral part of Chinese modernization.
