On Mao Zedong's Conception of"Revolutionary Party"and Its Implications
As a Marxist party, revolution is the defining nature of the CPC,and"revolutionary Party"is a sym-bolic concept in Mao Zedong Thought and the Party's political discourse system.Mao Zedong's conception of a"revolutionary party"was derived from profound theoretical origin, practical foundation, and historical motivation. This concept,an embodiment of adapting Marxist theories on political party to the Chinese context and the needs of the times, had taken shape and developed through the periods of the New Democratic Revolution, socialist revolu-tion and construction, and have made profound implications on founding, revitalizing, and strengthening the Party. In the new era,the Party should take the initiative in self-reform and tackling the special challenges that a large party like the CPC faces,so as to escape the historical cycle of rise and fall;promote the great social transformation with strategic thinking,so as to create new ground for"Chinese miracles"and"Chinese governance";advance re-form of governance by applying systems thinking,so as to modernize China's system and capacity for governance.
