A Textual Study on the Date of Liu Zhidan's Release
There are disagreements over the date Liu Zhidan was released, with mainly four versions, which, however, lack reliable historical facts to support and have puzzles to be clarified.By reviewing various literature and historical records, especially the newly released historical records about the Kuomintang's encirclement and suppression against the Red Army during the Long March, the author excludes the possibilities that Liu was set free on November 7,December 13 or about it,between November 18 and 20,November 29 or 30 of 1935.The study concludes that considering the fact that the Party Central Committee did not arrive at Wayaobu until November 7,Liu and the other comrades who were wrongly arrested should probably be released on November 13 or 14 after ver-ification,investigation,and hearings.
