On the Historic Contribution of the Northwest Bureau of the CPC Central Committee(1941-1954)
Established in May 1941 as a dispatched agency for the unified leadership of the Party in the north-west region,the Northwest Bureau of the CPC Central Committee had functioned under the leadership of the Party Central Committee for 13 years until its dismiss in December 1954,during which it had gone through great events,including the Resistant War against Japanese Aggression,the Liberation War,and China's transition from new de-mocracy to socialism after the founding of the People's Republic of China.In the years,it implemented various pol-icies and guidelines of the Party Central Committee,fulfilled the historical tasks assigned by the Party Central Com-mittee at different periods,and played an important historical role in the victory of the New Democratic Revolution and the Socialist Revolution in the Northwest region.It provided some general practical experience for the Party in making a series of major decisions concerning different localities,and fulfilled its role as a staff assistant to the Cen-tral Committee in decision-making;It served as a pilot ground for the Central Committee to initiate its major policies and theoretical ideas;It made a series of institutional explorations,some of which had set historical precedents for many important systems in contemporary China;It turned out numerous officials for the Chinese revolution and the so-cialist construction in the wake of the founding of the People's Republic and played an important organizational role.
