Research on Online Learning Classification Based on the Degree of Knowledge Structuring and Learner's Online Learning Maturity
As education digitization accelerates, online learning has become an important part of current and future education, and a variety of practice patterns are rapidly evolving. As a professional field of practice, what are the basic types of online learning?Research on this issue is the key to helping teachers choose the right on-line learning model for different contexts,so that they can effectively design online learning and ensure that high-quality learning occurs.Based on exploring the development trend and classification research of online learn-ing practices and related taxonomy, this study constructs an online learning classification framework based on the theory of transactional distance, taking the degree of knowledge structuring and learner's maturity in online learn-ing as the basis. The study proposes that online learning can be divided into four categories:teacher-led thematic learning,teacher-guided collaborative research and creation learning,peer-driven group generative learning, and al-gorithm-generated intelligent adaptive learning.Meanwhile, the characteristics of the four types of online learning are summarized from seven dimensions, namely, knowledge type, learner type, core interaction, teacher's role, satisfied needs, technological features, and supporting theories,in combination with relevant theories and typical practice cases. Finally, this study reflects on online teaching during the epidemic and envisions the future of on-line learning. It is hoped that this study can deepen practitioners'understanding of online learning and help de-signers synthesize, select, and design appropriate online learning based on the deqree of knowledge structuring and learners'online learning maturity.
