"Futures Literacy"and the Profound Significance for Futures Education:A Conversation between Li Zhengtao and French Futurologist Riel Miller
Futures literacy has a profound impact on the development of futures education.Drawing on the dialogue between Li Zhengtao and French futurologist Riel Miller,this article delves into the multi-dimensional is-sues of futures literacy.As a prerequisite for core competencies,futures literacy is a basic capability that every in-dividual should possess.The key to changing the future lies in enhancing people's ability to understand and ima-gine,thereby deepening their understanding of the world.This means not only changing the human condition,but also stimulating individuals'autonomous imagination by identifying and transcending different anticipatory assumptions.Therefore,the school system needs to abandon its inherent concepts,encourage and guide students to use their imagination,and cultivate their ability to"using-the-future".Currently,the connection between schools and futures studies is still limited,and it requires broader and more dimensional intervention from all sectors of society.As a new research tool,the Futures Literacy Laboratories(FLL)can effectively reveal the anticipatory assumptions of participants and help cultivate futures literacy.Shanghai and Chengdu in China have initially accumulated unique experiences in FLL.In the future,by building interdisciplinary research platforms,innovating new pedagogy methods,and optimizing learning processes,we can promote the vigorous develop-ment of futures literacy education in China's education field.
