In order to provide more reference for the design of online laser perforation parameters of medium-size cigarettes,the morphology of ventilation holes created by online laser perforation was characterized by microscope and 3D microscope using both.The influence of pulse duration on the cigarette physical characteristics and routine analysis of mainstream smoke of medium-size cigarettes was investigated.The results show that:① Holes cannot be penetrated when the pulse duration is too short(≤47 seconds).Elliptical holes appear when the pulse duration is too long(≥90 seconds).② The pulse duration showed a linear positive correlation with the diameter and area of ventilation holes.③The pulse duration of perforation is inversely proportional to cigarette suction resistance,filter ventilation rate and total ventilation rate,and the determination coefficient R2 is above 0.99;the pulse duration of online laser perforation is linearly related to various routine analyses of mainstream smoke,and the determination coefficient R2 is mainly above 0.96.The moisture release in mainstream smoke was quadratically related to the pulse duration of perforation,with a coefficient of determination of 0.9767.④ With the increase of ventilation hole area and the decrease of the number of ventilation hole,the change in draw resistance of cigarettes is minimal,which remains relatively stable.The standard deviation in the release of total particulate matter(TPM),nicotine,tar,and CO was relatively small when the pulse duration was moderate(50 to 60 s).
