With the gradual expansion of national highways,railways and other public facilities,the requirements for the mechanical properties of steel strands are also increasing.At present,the widely used 1 860 MPa prestressed steel strands have been unable to meet the requirements.The use of ultra-high strength steel strand has the advanta-ges of high efficiency,energy saving,economy and low carbon.Many domestic iron and steel enterprises are trying to develop ultra-high strength prestressed steel strands above 2 000 MPa.However,due to the lack of clear organi-zational performance control objectives for steel strands products,their various properties can't be balanced at the same time,and cannot be mass-produced and put into use.The development trend of ultra-high strength prestressed steel strand is reviewed.The strengthening mechanism is discussed from the aspects of grain boundary strengthening in pearlite lamellar,dislocation strengthening in ferrite and solid solution strengthening of cementite dissolution.The composition design optimization and microstructure control of high carbon steel raw material wire rod are put forward,and it can lay a foundation for ensuring the final microstructure and properties of ultra-high strength pres-tressed steel strand.The microstructure and properties of steel strand can be further improved by controlling the pa-rameters of drawing die angle,drawing deformation distribution,stabilization treatment temperature and tension in the production process of steel strand.Finally,the bottleneck problems in the research and industrialization of ultra-high strength steel strands are summarized.Based on the urgent need to improve the comprehensive performance of steel strand products in the future,the development trend of ultra-high strength steel strands is proposed,aiming to provide direction for the industrialization of ultra-high strength prestressed steel strands above 2 000 MPa.
