At present,China's steel industry is mainly facing the pressure of reducing production capacity and adjus-ting structure.Extending products downstream to the industrial application end will greatly enhance product added value.The development and application of high-end new steel products require solving many difficulties such as tech-nical research and product validation.Currently,most steel enterprises in China do not have the ability to evaluate product service performance for terminal application scenarios.It focuses on analyzing how steel enterprises can en-hance added value through product terminal application orientation in the process of new product development,and points out that the key core problem in solving new products development is products application in new materials,new processes,new functions,new structures,etc.,which should be guided by end-user needs,benchmark inter-national products of the same type,focus on domestic development,formulate targeted experimental research and data accumulation strategies based on the actual working conditions of the products,and effectively accelerate the optimization and iteration of high-end new product research and development through accurate evaluation of the serv-ice performance and life of new products,providing authoritative"work certificates"for their rapid application and participation in international market competition.Combined the specific case of the National Major Science and Technology Infrastructure"Materials Service Safety Assessment Facilities(MSAF)"led by University of Science and Technology Beijing in serving and supporting the testing and evaluation of key core components such as domestic high-speed rail,wind power equipment,and shipbuilding,it analyzes the bottleneck problems that restrict the high-quality development of the steel industry,especially the expansion of the industry to high value-added areas,and the corresponding strategic paths.It provides new theoretical and implementation suggestions for improving the high-quality innovative development of the steel industry.
