Electromagnetic on-line detection of inclusions concentration and particle size distribution in recycled aluminum casting process
Recycled aluminum has become an important development direction of the aluminum industry in the future due to its advantages of green, environmental protection and recyclability, and how to realize the detection and con-trol of inclusions in recycled aluminum is the focus of research on recycled aluminum technology. In order to study the trend of inclusion particle size and concentration in the recycled aluminum casting process, the inclusions in the recycled aluminum casting process were measured by the measurement method based on the electrical sensing zone method. This method has the characteristics and advantages of real-time,online,and quantitative measurement.A measuring device for the detection of recycled aluminum melt inclusions was designed, and the ability of the device to"capture"the inclusions was verified by metallographic detection of the solidified molten aluminum in the sampling tube, and the inclusions in the casting process were measured by the device. The results show that the particle size distribution range of the inclusions decreases from[20,70]μm before melting to[10,40]μm after filtration, the particle size with the highest concentration after melting decreases from 49 μm(1.39 × 103/kg)to 39 μm(1.03 × 103/kg)after standing and 21 μm(0.74 × 103/kg)after filtration, and the N20-N60 indexes of filtered inclusions decrease by 76%,91%,97%,98%and 98%,respectively.The research results have reference value for the opti-mization of the recycled aluminum casting process.
