Clinical value of orthodontic treatment for anterior tooth displacement caused by periodontal disease
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of orthodontic treatment for anterior tooth displacement caused by periodontal disease.Methods A total of 100 patients with anterior tooth displacement due to periodontal disease treated in our hospital from January 2020 to October 2022 were selected.According to the random number table method,they were divided into reference group and treatment group,with 50 cases in each group.The conventional periodontal treatment was applied to the reference group,and the patients in the treatment group received orthodontic treatment.Comparisons between the two groups were made in terms of post-treatment tooth mobility,various periodontal health scores,periodontal pocket depth,anterior alveolar bone height,quality of life scores,and serum inflammatory factor levels.Results After treatment,the degree of tooth mobility in the treatment group was lower than that in the reference group,with a statistically significant difference(x2=46.693,P＜0.05).The treatment group demonstrated superior results in terms of periodontal health scores,periodontal pocket depth,anterior alveolar bone height,quality of life scores,and inflammatory factor levels compared to the reference group.Differences between the groups were statistically significant(t=26.467,24.851,48.068,8.333,9.060,21.046,24.345,15.992,3.626,12.280,all P＜0.05).Conclusion Patients with anterior tooth displacement due to periodontal disease can achieve desirable treatment outcomes with orthodontic intervention,which can improve the periodontal health level and tooth looseness,help to inhibit the inflammatory response and improve the quality of life of the patients.It is worth of reference and further promoting.
