Application of triglyceride glucose and gamma-glutamyl transferase in the diagnosis of metabolic syndrome in young and middle-aged people
Objective To explore the diagnostic value of triglyceride glucose(TyG)index and γ-glutamyl transferase(GGT)in metabolic syndrome(MS)of middle-aged and young adults.Method One hundred and fifty-one cases with MS in Beijing Shijitan Hospital from December 2022 to September 2023 were selected as the research objects. At the same time,130 healthy adults were selected as the control group, and the metabolic and inflammatory indicators of the two groups of were measured respectively.According to the number of diagnosed components of MS patients, they were divided into MS3 group(101 cases),MS4 group(32 cases)and MS5 group(18 cases),and TyG index and GGT levels were compared among the three groups.Pearson correlation was used to analyse the correlation between TyG index,GGT,and MS diagnostic indicators. The risk factors of MS were analyzed through multi-factor logistic regression.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to evaluate the value of TyG index and GGT to predict MS.Result The TyG index and GGT of patients in the MS group were significantly higher than that of the control group, and TyG index and GGT were higher in the MS5 group than in the MS3 and MS4 groups.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the TyG index and GGT level were positively correlated with BMI,DBP,SBP,FPG and TG(P<0.05),and negatively correlated with HDL-C(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that TyG index and GGT were both risk factors for MS.ROC curve analysis showed that the area AUC under the curve of TyG index, and GGT to predict the incidence of MS was 0.720(95%CI 0.660-0.781),0.675(95%CI 0.612-0.739).Conclusion The TyG index and GGT were highly expressed in young and middle-aged MS patients, both of which were closely related to MS.
