Effect and significance of succinate dehydrogenase A on proliferation, migration, and invasion of gastric cancer
Objective To explore the effect of succinate dehydrogenase A(SDHA)on the biological characteristics of gastric cancer cells by detecting its expression level in gastric cancer tissues and cells. Methods The expression of SDHA in gastric cancer and para-neoplastic tissues was analyzed using immunohistochemistry(IHC).Combined with Western blotting to detect SDHA expression in normal gastric epithelial and gastric cancer cells, the Transwell, scratch,Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8),and colony formation assays were used to further investigate the effects of abnormal SDHA expression on the migration, invasion, and proliferation ability of gastric cancer cells. Results IHC and Western blotting results showed that SDHA was highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues and cells.Knockdown and overexpression of SDHAaffected the proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities of gastric cancer cells. In addition,SDHA expression was significantly correlated with tumor immune infiltration. Conclusion SDHA affects the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer, alters the biological functions of gastric cancer cells, and is therefore a potential target for gastric cancer therapy.
