The construction boom of national trails system (NTS) in China began in 2010.Currently trails planning research relies on empirical analysis,and lacks of the application of space technology and methods.According to the three dimensional space of mountainous terrain,based on topographic map,satellite images and GPS track data,3S technology (RS,GIS,GPS) is applied to the whole process of NTS planning of Changping,Beijing.3S technology is used to improve the scientificness of trail construction condition evaluation,trail route optimization,facility layout optimization,as well as the intuition of planning results.NTS planning technology system is built based on 3S technology,which has a certain universality,also a useful supplement of traditional planning methods.
