Rural Ecosystem Service Enhancement Planning and Design Based on Landscape Character Assessment ——A Case Study of Qiaokou Town, Changsha City
Landscape character assessment is a critical tool to identify the intrinsic characteristics and appearance of rural landscape.It could be a valuable reference for rural landscape planning and design.Rural landscape has important ecosystem functions and services,which could be enhanced and maintained by ecological and landscape design.This paper took Qiaokou Town, Changsha City, a typical rice paddy area, as a case study, conducted a plan of ecological network and landscape maintenance and enhancement models of typical landscapes by using landscape character assessment based on desk classification and field survey, as well as the analysis of landscape problems and related ecosystem service effects.The study has shown that the combination of landscape character assessment with ecosystem services functions could guide the small-scale rural landscape planning and design efficiently.
