Progress of Research on Carbon Sink Accounting and Monitoring of Urban Green Space
Urban green spaces(UGS)are essential for the low-carbon circular development of cities. To achieve carbon dioxide peaking and carbon neutrality in cities,it is crucial to accurately assess the carbon sink capacities of these spaces. This study aims to clarify the concept of UGS carbon sinks, analyze quantitative methods for carbon-sink accounting of UGS,and suggest the development of a monitoring system for UGS carbon sinks at various scales and management modes.Additionally, the study proposes a method for quantifying emission reductions from UGS projects, accounting for baseline carbon sink, carbon leakage, and other influencing factors. These findings aim to enhance the accuracy of UGS carbon sink assessments and provide insights and methods for advancing carbon neutrality in UGS construction.
