Spatial and Temporal Distribution Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Industrial Heritage in Southwest China
Industrial heritages carry the transformations of human society and record the history of cities. The research on the spatial-temporal distribution characteristics and related influencing factors of industrial heritages is an important basis for their protection and activation.Comparing to the Mid-east region of China, the unique geographical environments of Southwest China bring up its own special industrial development. The spatial-temporal distribution characteristics of industrial heritages and their influencing factors were analyzed by the relevant spatial analysis methods of GIS platform with 48 important industrial heritages in Southwest China as the objects of study. The results show that:1)In terms of temporal distribution, the industrial heritages in Southwest China present the characteristics of large time span, strong historical continuity and prominent stages.2)The spatial distribution of industrial heritages in Southwest China unevenly balanced with"more in the east and less in the west".Their spatial distribution is the aggregated type, showing the characteristics of"large concentration and small dispersion"and"dense in the east and sparse in the west",and forming a distribution pattern of"one core and one vice,belt-like distribution".3)In terms of influencing factors, the distribution of industrial heritage in Southwest China is comprehensively affected by natural geography, social economy, historical environment and government policies. These findings form the frontier exploration research on the spatial and temporal distribution of industrial heritage in Southwest China and its internal mechanism, which is fundamental to the research of industrial heritage in Southwest China.
