A Study on the Role of Eminent Monk in the Plant Landscape of Buddhist Temple Gardens-Taking the"Youxi Taoist Rites"of Gaoming Temple in Tiantai Mountain as an Example
Based on the field survey and oblique photography of Gaoming Temple in Tiantai Mountain,and with the examination of Monk Chuandeng's Youxi Biezhi,this paper tries to restore the characteristics of the plant landscape inside and outside Gaoming Temple in the late Ming Dynasty,explore the origin of its creation and design ideas,and through specific case studies,reveal the subjective and dynamic role played by the key person,Tiantai eminent monk Chuandeng,in the process of plant landscape design,construction and transformation in the historical context of that time,so as to provide inspiration and reference for the protection and development of today's local religious and cultural landscape.
